Financial institutions, investors, bonding companies, regulators, etc. often require individuals, businesses, and nonprofits to provide financial statements that have been audited, reviewed, or compiled by a Certified Public Accountant. These assurance services provide users with an increased level of confidence in your financial statements. We provide all three levels of service.
- Audit: The objective of an audit is to express an opinion about whether the financial statements are fairly presented in conformity with the applicable financial reporting framework that is used by the entity.
- Review: A review engagement involves performing procedures (primarily analytical procedures and inquiries) that will prove a reasonable basis for obtaining limited assurance that there are not material modifications that should be made to the financial statements for them to be in conformity with the applicable financial reporting framework.
- Compilation: A compilation engagement involves assisting management in presenting finacial information (consisting of management’s representations) in the form of financial statements, without providing any assurance on those financial statements. Accountants are not required to make inquiries or perform other procedures to corroborate the accuracy of completeness of the information supplied by management.
An agreed – upon procedures (AUP) engagement is one in which a CPA is engaged by a client to issue a report of findings based on specific procedures agreed upon by the client to be performed on a subject matter.
